Which types of animals does Focus DTNÂ train?
We train all types of dogs for obedience and games. Small dogs are harder to train because people want to pick them up all the time or they let them get away with things you would never imagine letting a large dog get away with! But all dogs can be trained....no matter the age!
What does Focus DTNÂ do differently than others in your field?
We use verbal, physical and yes, treats to train. But not too much! We don't want to rely on treats as many dogs will work for a treat, but if you don't have that treat in your hand, they will begin to ignore you! But our goal is to work with you and the canine partner to create a bond!
What is your training methodology?
We work on first command response. The command is stated only once and then we help the dog to understand what the word actually means. We do not hit or get angry with our dog. We use the three P's....Practice, Patience and Persistence!
Do all dogs train the same way?
Not all dogs train the same way with the same method, collar or tool. Some may need a different approach. We constant evolve to ensure your pet gets the best training method we can give you.
