Arlene Bacon

At Focus Dog Training Niagara we believe that when you work hard and play hard, you create a more harmonious union with your pet.  Arlene is a Trainer of more than 23 years and am versed in many different forms of training.  We train using the First Command Response method which means that when we say a command, we do not repeat it.  Arlene has shown her dogs in Conformation, practice agility, Rally-O, am a groomer, and is versed in behaviour.  

Focus DTN believes that owning a pet is an amazing and rewarding experience, but also a responsibility, not a luxury. Training your pet properly will lead you to a greater understanding of the animal, and we firmly believe in the owner-pet relationship being one of mutual understanding and respect. We immerse you fully in the training process, and with this approach, I find that owners end up learning as much, if not more, than their pets. On a personal note, Arlene breeds, shows, and train her Basenji's.  One of the world's oldest breeds (Ancient Egypt depicts them on the Hieroglyphics and cave drawings over 10,000 in Ancient Libya have been found). They don't bark, but are not mute.  A hunting dog, these are definitely not for everyone and can be very challenging.
